Margaret A Knapkavage
August 16, 1926 - July 28, 2023

Margaret A Knapkavage, of Antigo, died on July 28, 2023, at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 96 years old. She was born on August 16, 1926 in Antigo, a daughter of Albert and Ann (Mucha) Hafner. She married Stanley Knapkavage on May 29, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church Antigo. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1996.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1944.

Margaret was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Parish and the church Rosary Society.

She was employed at Antigo Veneer Company, Dr. Zellmer's office, American Family Insurance for George Ourada and Gene Plamann, Waidleich Insurance and Auner Insurance Companies. She was a grandmother at North Elementary for many years.

She enjoyed needlepoint, music, gardening and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include five daughters, Kathleen (Bert) Packard, Jeanne Knapkavage, Leah (David Kirsch) Schroepfer, Lynn (Patrick) Noskowiak, and Lori (Joseph) Kessler all of Antigo; two daughters-in-law, Carol Knapkavage of Deerbrook and daughter-in-law, Debra Kapusta of Antigo; a sister-in-law, Lee Hafner of Bryant; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Thomas; a brother, John Hafner; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Al Stigelski.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home.

A special thank you to the home health care workers, Sarah Nelson and Connie Adkins, and to the staff of LeRoyer Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Margaret.
