Wayne H. Wilson
March 22, 1932 - August 18, 2023

Wayne H Wilson, of Elton, entered his Heavenly home on August 18, 2023 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 91 years old. He was born on March 22, 1932, a son of Glen and Virginia (Brown) Wilson. He married Peggie Combs on August 13, 1955 at Four Corners Assembly of God in White Lake.

He was a graduate of White Lake High School, class of 1949. Wayne received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin White Water and his Master's degree from Michigan State.

Wayne was a teacher, starting his career in Shawano in a one-room school teaching all 8 grades. He also taught in Black Creek, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois and was a teacher and principal in Menominee, Michigan.

Wayne and Peggie had Wilson's filling station and mobile home sales in Mountain. They sold the station and moved to Mesa, Arizona where he resumed his teaching career until retirement.

Wayne was a member of the Four Corners Assembly of God. While in Arizona he was a member of the Christian Motor Cycle Association, having participated in many charity rides. He was also a member of S.O.W.E.R. a traveling Christian charity for 28 years.

He enjoyed flying, reading, fishing and hunting.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Peggie; two daughters, Debra (Jeffery) Gilbertson of Watertown and Laura Hoffmann of Racine; a son, Rodney (Sheila) Wilson of White Lake; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glenna Wilson and Pamela (John) Keith; four brothers, Jim (Sherry) Wilson, Gerald (Arlene) Wilson, Tim (Susan) Wilson, Teddy (Rebecca) Wilson.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Audrey and Yvonne; and brothers, DeLou and Ray

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God with Reverend Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.
