Jane Ruth Menting
June 14, 1934 - September 18, 2023

Jane Ruth Menting, of Phlox, died on September 18, 2023 at Countryside Manor in Sheboygan. She was 89 years old. She was born on June 14, 1934 in Phlox, a daughter of Frank and Frances (Verhasselt) Waldvogel. She married Harold Menting on June 15, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phlox. They were married for 53 years. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2010.

Jane attended Maple Grove Grade School and graduated from Mattoon High School. She continued her education at Dominican College in Racine, graduating with a Bachelors degree.

She was a teacher in Two Rivers and Wausau. She was an administrative assistant for Northern Welding and Lemke Cheese, and a teller at Associated Bank, all in Wausau. She moved to Phlox retiring in 1997.

Jane was a member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Anne's Christian Mother's Society.

She enjoyed crafts and needle work.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (John) Schnorr of Fond du Lac; a son, Larry (Sandy) Menting of Howards Grove; three grandsons, Brady Alan Menting, Cory Mitchel Menting, and Gary Robert Menting; a sister, Betty Noskowiak of Antigo; and a brother, Jerome (Kathy) Waldvogel of Pestigo.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Menting; two daughters, Donna and Lynn Menting; a sister, Agnes Noskowiak; a brother, Donald Waldvogel; two brothers-in-law, Dan and Frank Noskowiak.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox with Rev. Vicente Llagas officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, September 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
