In loving memory of

Josephine Pauls
June 27, 1935 - September 27, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we kiss goodbye to our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend Josephine Carol Pauls.

She went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with MS and most recently cancer.

Though our hearts ache with grief, we take comfort in knowing that she is now free from pain and suffering and dancing with the angels.

Josephine was born on June 27th, 1935, in Antigo, Wisconsin. Daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Fleischman. She grew up in a faith-filled home wrapped in warmth and love.

Josephine "Jo" as her family and friends affectionately called her, was a devout woman of faith who loved her special moments when Father Charlie would come visit, always kidding around, sharing stories and prayers. She was a kind lady that taught us to be grateful for everything no matter how difficult the circumstances are.

She was a great baker and cook and she always made the holidays magical and so very special. Josephine was known for her fun-filled personality and sparkling sense of humor, bringing laughter and joy to those around her, especially when she won BLACKOUT BINGO! You couldn't talk about Jo without acknowledging her love and adoration for her constant furry companion, her beloved cat whom she lovingly called "Kitty Meow" telling everyone who met the pair "That's mama's baby!" He brought solace and comfort to Jo during some of her most difficult times.

Josephine is survived by her loving family, children, Jeff Lee, Steve (Sandy) Lee, Deb (Todd) Steinfest, Jackie Krayecki (Rodney Klos), William (Tamara) Pauls; grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Makenzie, Christopher, Trayce, Christi, Michael, Steven, Robert, Jonathon, Nicholas, and Sarah, their spouses and families; step-children, Sheila Pauls, Lisa Pauls, Todd (Joanne) Pauls, Theodore (Annette) Pauls; step-grandchildren, Derek and Hayley, Myre and Breann; a brother, Eugene Fleischman; and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ernest Lee and Theodore Pauls; and two brothers, Jerome and Thomas.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 6, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be on Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Where we will celebrate Josephine's life with forever moments, lifetime memories, and unending love. May her soul rest in eternal peace knowing that her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Langlade County Humane Society, https://www.langladecountyhumanesociety.org
Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
