In loving memory of

John J. Sparks
October 9, 1933 - October 25, 2023

John J. "Jack" Sparks, on October 25, 2023, of Greentown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Audubon, NJ. Age 90.

Devoted husband of the late Patricia Ann Sparks. Loving father of John J. Sparks (Susan), Kelly P. Connelly (Brian), and Patrick M. Sparks (Mary Ann). Pop of Jack (Kelly), Jamie, Becky, Brian (Kate), Kaitlin, Brandon, and Meghan. Big Pop of Riley, Bryce, John, and Benjamin. Brother of Sylvia Zeitschel (the late Bob), James Sparks (Carol), Martha Hawk (the late Howard), and the late Nancy Shaw. Brother-in-law of Ralph Shaw, Eileen Krier (Heinz), and Eugene Kirk (the late Elizabeth). Also remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.

Jack was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Everglades as a torpedoman. He married his sweetheart, Pat, and started a family. After being a deliveryman for Bond Bread, he joined the Carpenter's Union Local 8 of Philadelphia, eventually becoming superintendent. He was a master craftsman, always making or building something, including his cabin in the Poconos with the help of his family and many friends, creating many great family memories. He resided in that cabin after retirement from the union where he welcomed a whole new group of friends who became extended family. He was always willing to lend his expertise for anyone's project, and never afraid to volunteer his own family for the job to learn a charitable lesson. He joined the American Legion Post 859 and eventually was appointed Commander, which title he held proudly for approximately 30 years. There was never a person who met Jack whose face he didn't put a smile on or whose life he didn't impact. Jack was larger than life, and will truly be missed by so many. He was the heart and soul of our family!

There will be a visitation on Friday, November 3, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Memorial service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Inurnment to follow at Woodbury Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's memory to American Legion Post 859 - P. O. Box 93, Newfoundland, PA 18445.
