In loving memory of

Mary Ellen Feagin
September 7, 1928 - November 9, 2023

Mary Ellen Feagin died at home on Thursday November 9th surrounded by family. She was 95.

Born in Richmond, California, she was the daughter of Lon and Elsie L. Butler. Her father was a conductor on the Santa Fe railroad and throughout her life she loved to ride the train.

After earning her degree from San Francisco State College, she began teaching physical education at Santa Cruz high school. There she met her husband of 31 years, Frederick King Feagin, Captain USN Retired, who preceded her in death in 1984. As a Navy wife, she managed the household and raised their four daughters on her own while Fred was away at sea. Through many deployments, she was strong and independent, resourceful and able to live on a tight budget. She was flexible and adaptable as the family was frequently uprooted and moved to new places.

A founding member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Woodinville, she was a loyal supporter and friend of those in need.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her brother Glenn K. Butler. She is survived by four daughters: Anne Figge, Katie Guthrie, and Nancy Feagin of Bellevue, Washington and Mary Margaret Feagin of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. on December 9th at St. Bartholomew's Church, 14821 Avondale Road, Woodinville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Bartholomew's Church. Rest eternal grant unto her O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon her.
