ROBERT RATCLIFF
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Robert Ratcliff, 74, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Mercy Hospital ICU, Iowa City.
Funeral services are pending. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bob was born on February 12, 1949, in Muscatine, the son of Bruce and Ellamae Demorest Ratcliff. He married Denise Cummings, who preceded him in death. He later married Cheryl Gillmore in May of 2020.
He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1967, attended Muscatine Community College and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1974 as a compounding pharmacist. Bob worked for Rite Aid, Giant, and Drug Fair, all in Northern Virginia, retiring in 2014.
Bob was a member of the Masons. He was the drummer for The Rogues, a popular 1960 Muscatine band. His love of all music genres continued throughout his life. He enjoyed building model ships and was a forever dog lover.
Bob is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three sons, James Cummings and two grandchildren, Nathan and Kenneth Ratcliff; two siblings, Nick Ratcliff and Beth Ratcliff Koch; and his French Bulldog, Poppy Dot.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Denise.
