MARGIE L. HARPER, 85, passed away on November 29, 2023 in Sarasota, Florida.

Margie was born on June 10, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Harper, and Dina Harper Hyman both of Sarasota, Florida and Nikki Harper Ripper of Phoenix, Arizona. Her survivors also include six grandchildren: Megan Moran, Jake Hyman, Shawn Hyman, Jack Combs, Jennifer Combs and Josh Ripper. She also is survived by five great-grandchildren.

Margie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English from Washington University in St. Louis. She taught English as a Second Language and was well loved by her students.She was an avid reader and read many books a week. When she moved to Sarasota, she volunteered for the Literacy Council tutoring students in English.

Throughout her life, Margie also had many other interests. She played AAA tennis in St. Louis. She loved art, painting and photography. Her photos were exhibited at a museum in St. Louis. She loved to travel and went to many exotic locales including Costa Rica, Australia and Spain.She also went white water rafting on the Colorado River in her late 50's

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. So loved, so missed and held so dear.
