Joseph McKissick
September 16, 1951 - January 3, 2024

Joseph McKissick passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his family.

Devoted husband of 52-years to Marian (McGinnis). Joseph was the son of the late William and Mary (McKenna), brother of William (Karen), Thomas (Kelly), James (Patrice), and the late Mary McMahon (Thomas) and John (Andrea). Brother-in-law to Catherine Burke (Ed), Lenny Gonnella (Jack), Robert McGinnis, the late Owen McGinnis (Alicia McGinnis), and the late Val McGinnis (Helen) and Gerri Barry (Jim).

Survived by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joseph was born and raised in South Philadelphia, where he met and married the love of his life Marian (McGinnis). They have resided in Stratford, NJ for the past 40+ years. He spent many years as a Bindery Machine Operator and Foreman with most of his career at Winchells in Center City, Philadelphia.

Joseph looked forward to going on his yearly cruises with his wife Marian, family, and friends. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his brothers. He was also a huge fan of the shows Cops, Live PD, and Chit Show.

Joseph was known for his kindness, generosity, and humorous nature. He always opened his doors and heart to his family whether it was for one night or several years. Joe's laugh, smile, and dedication to his family will truly be missed.

There will be a viewing from 9:30am until 11:15am on Monday, January 8th at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Mass at 12noon at Holy Child Parish - St. Teresa's. Entombment at New St. Mary's Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Joseph was a beloved patient at Comprehensive Cancer and Hematology Specialists. Family and friends are welcome to donate in Joseph's honor to other patients out of pocket costs going through chemotherapy currently. You can kindly mail any donations to Comprehensive Cancer at 705 White Horse Road Suite D-105 Voorhees, NJ 08043: Attention Billing with Joseph McKissick's name in the memorandum so that we know to allocate that money to current patients cost of cancer care.
