Carolyn Wilcken

Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St Paul Lutheran Church (610 15th St, Ames, IA 50010) at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.

Carolyn A. (Milen) Wilcken, age 86, of Nevada, Iowa passed away on January 2, 2024 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa.

Carolyn was born October 15, 1937, in Fargo, North Dakota to Hjalmer and Ann (Carlson) Milen. She was baptized into the Christian faith on May 8, 1938, and confirmed her baptismal vows on May 20, 1951 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married Rev. Robert S. Wilcken on July 30, 1960. Rev. Wilcken served parishes in Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

Survivors include her sons Kurt (Kathy) Wilcken of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Steven (Seana) Wilcken of Nevada, Iowa: and Dr. Geoffrey (Wendie) Wilcken of Lawrence, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Robert; her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Harry Swanson; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pete and Darlene Wilcken; and her granddaughter, Amelia.
