In loving memory of

Joyce Reynolds
May 4, 1929 - January 21, 2024

Joyce Darlene Reynolds, 94, passed away at Accura HealthCare of Ames on January 21, 2024. Born on May 4, 1929, in Chicago, she was raised in Cedar Rapids in a loving home by her mother Genevive and beloved stepfather, John Trimble, alongside siblings Jim, Gordon and Sharon. In 1960 Joyce, husband Bernie Tanner and son Ken settled in Ames. At only 5' tall, the little Bohemian was a force to be reckoned with. Working with people was her joy, having been employed over the years at the ISU Book Store, McFarland Clinic, Mary Greeley Hospital and Hy-Vee Grocery.

Joyce is survived by her son, Ken (Harriette), grandsons, Slade (Stephanie), Casey Tanner, great-grandsons , (Boone, Luke), sister, Sharon (Marv) Herman as well as her dear friends Lilian (Don) Johnson. A special thanks to all Joyce's caregivers along the way, but special thanks to Lilian and Don Johnson who became family and support to her through her later years. Joyce's wishes were not to have a memorial service but to have her ashes given to her son to determine ideal placement at a later date.
