In loving memory of

Betty Divina
February 16, 1948 - January 16, 2024

Betty Divina was born on February 16,1948 in Olympia, Washington. She was quickly adopted by Harold and Darlene Diamond. Darlene remarried, but Betty kept the last name Diamond.
She attended many schools in the Olympia area, graduating from Olympia High School 1966. She then attended Western Washington State College (later becoming a University) where Betty met her husband, Al, a perfect gentleman and got her Mrs. degree on July 13th, 1968.
After Al graduated, they moved to the Maple Valley area where Al was a math teacher and coached various sports at Tahoma Senior high school. They later moved to the Kent area. Because of her love of children, Betty provided licensed home childcare for several years before realizing her passion was teaching young children. In August of 1990 she enrolled in Highline Community College where she received her AA degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught a few years at Bow Lake preschool. Her love for the Lord and teaching Sunday School led her to becoming a preschool teacher at Kent Covenant Preschool for many years.
Her children with Al meant the world to her, Kari Lynn, Marc and Brett. Betty's favorite role was that of Grandma (Grammie). She treasured her time with her grandchildren, never failing to ensure they knew they were loved and cherished by their "Grammie" and provided care in their younger years.
Betty loved children, teaching preschool, dogs, horses and all animals. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and always shared Him with others. She was very active in Women's Bible Study Fellowship groups. Her fondest memories were caring for her family and dogs, teaching preschool and spending time in Maui and Kauai appreciating the Lord's beauty.
After a 8 year battle with cancer, she went home to be with her Lord Jesus. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Al and their children, Kari, Marc and Brett and their spouses, Jeff, Mary and Jody as well as her grandchildren, Josh, Raechel, Lily and Gabby.
Betty's Memorial Service is Saturday, 02/10/24 at Kent Covenant Church 12010 SE 240th St, Kent, Wa 98031 at 1 o'clock.
