In loving memory of

Ronald "Ron" Rudio
July 23, 1940 - January 31, 2024

Ronald "Ron" Rudio, a beloved husband, companion, father and grandfather, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in South Glens Falls, NY, on July 23, 1940, Ron lived a life filled with love, adventure, and meaningful connections.

Ron was the son of Carl and Valeta Rudio. He grew up alongside his two older brothers, Gail and Henry. While Gail preceded him in death, Henry remains a cherished part of the family. Ron's upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic, compassion, and a commitment to community service.

Ron was married to Jane Verwulst in 1971. Together, they built a life centered around family, friendship, and shared experiences. Ron and Jane were blessed with two children, Chris (Lauren) and Cara, who both inherited their parents' passion for exploration and adventure. Ron had two grandchildren, Blake and Nathan, and enjoyed spending time outdoors with them both.

Ron dedicated his career to public service. As a Civil Engineer with the New York State Department of Health in Geneva, NY, and through volunteer work with the Finger Lakes Water Works Association, he worked to ensure safe water for his neighbors in upstate New York. At his home in Phelps, NY, Ron participated in the town board, volunteered with the Boy Scouts, and lent a helping hand to his neighbors.

After retiring in 2006, Ron and Jane settled in the serene beauty of Peck Lake in the Adirondacks region of New York State. They enjoyed kayaking, spending time with neighbors, and working with friends on the PLPA community organization. Their love for travel took them to Europe on several occasions.

Following Jane's passing in 2014, Ron found companionship and joy in his long-term relationship with Candice Colvin. Together, they continued their adventures, including exploring Switzerland and enjoying winters in Florida.

Ron Rudio leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit. His memory will forever inspire those who knew him to embrace life's adventures, cherish family bonds, and make a positive impact on the world.

Ron is survived by Candice, his brother Henry, children and grandchildren. May his spirit continue to guide us as we honor his remarkable journey.
