Edward R. Simpson
November 22, 1956 - February 24, 2024

Edward R. Simpson, DSFC #4340 "Silver Fox" passed away on February 24, 2024, of Deptford, NJ. Age 67. Beloved husband of Gigi Simpson (nee Rickenbach). Devoted father of Nicole Pensiero (Connor). Adoring PopPop of Gemma and Isla. Dear brother of the late Billy and Darlene. Faithful companion and best friend of Murphy. Endeared brother-in-law of Ruthann DelTito (Joe), Lee Robberson (Gary), Jill Jakubowski (Jim) and the late Eddie (Amy). Son in law of Ruth Rickenbach and the late Edward. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marian Simpson.

Fox started his career in law enforcement working 8 years at the Burlington Township Police Department before serving his 25 year career as a New Jersey State Trooper. After retirement, he worked as a security guard for the Phillies until working as an Administrative Officer for Corporate Services with the Norcross family and Connor, Stong & Buckelew. He enjoyed being a member of the Oneida Boat Club and Roma Club. He loved spending time in N. Wildwood, fishing, running, working out at the gym, traveling to various destinations and, of course, taking Murphy for walks. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and longtime season ticket holder.

There will be a visitation from 6pm - 8pm Friday, March 1 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE and from 10am -11am on Saturday, March 2. Followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am at the funeral home.

"Eddie was my background investigator before getting into the NJSP. He was professional but shiowed me a different side even as an applicant. He came to my graduation and once a Trooper would check up on me a leave very positive notes. Once I was a seasoned guy, I would see him around from time to time and it was always a great experience.
