Kathleen Bernice Johns, 90, of Ames, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of her home on February 27, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Grandon Funeral Home (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50010) on Friday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m.
Kathleen Risvold was born on January 7, 1934, near Story City. She attended country school, along with her sister Shirley, and later attended Roland-Story High School. Kathleen worked at Freeman Hall in Ames, and later met Robert (Bob) Johns. Kathleen and Bob were married at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on June 18, 1955. Kathleen worked as a stay-at-home mother, and they were blessed with 3 children.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Robert Johns, father, Olaf Risvold, and mother, Stella Risvold. Kathleen is survived by her sister Shirley Thede, Ames IA; children Dan Johns (Julie), Rochester MN; Steve Johns, Marshfield, MO; Debbie Johns, Ames, IA; grandchildren Ashley Johns Mancuello, Andrew Mostek, Benjamin Mostek, and great grandson Caleb Weingarten.
