In loving memory of

Alice Anne Ralph
October 13, 1959 - February 23, 2024

Alice Anne (Locko) Ralph, 64 years young, passed away peacefully, taking up her Angelic wings, in her Longboat Key, FL home with her daughters Rachael Roumaya and Amanda Ralph and her husband Ray at her side on February 23, 2024. Alice was brought into this life on October 13th, 1959, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to her parents, Serge and Anne Locko, and her four older brothers, Charles, Stephen, David and Bill Locko. When she was a toddler, her family relocated to Southern California, where she evolved into the beach girl many knew her to be. Alice graduated as Senior Class President from Clairemont High School in 1977. She was the beloved baby of her family and the glue that connected them throughout her lifetime. Just a few days before her passing, her passionately protective big brothers dropped their lives and travelled from all over to gather in her home and say goodbye to their baby sister.

Throughout her life, Alice held a handful of different careers. She proudly worked for The Wine Spectator magazine in her 20s, and she was a highly-valued paralegal for several years, but Alice truly found her calling working alongside elementary and middle-school aged kids in education administration. She was a sensitive soul and possessed the gifted ability to seek out and provide support and care for the children who needed it the most. She loved them, and they loved her.

In 1985, Alice married a small-town Canadian and the man who would make her his whole world, Raymond Ralph. After years of pursuing her, with his utmost devotion, he'd finally won her over. Together, they shared many life dreams, but above all, having a family was at the top. In June 1987, their oldest daughter, Rachael, was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their youngest daughter, Amanda, was born four years later in San Diego in August 1991. In 1995, Alice and her family moved from San Diego, California, to Bradenton, Florida, before moving to Austin, Texas, in 2000 for 21 years. Alice & Ray retired in Longboat Key, Florida, in 2021.

Being the mother of girls was her greatest joy. Everyone who knew her was privy to the pride and unconditional love for her girls. She became Nana to her two grandsons, when Brad and Rachael Roumaya gave birth to Brayden and Camden in 2016 and 2021, respectively. While loving her girls was always the most meaningful job, she loved her grandchildren with the same depth and joy she loved her daughters with.

Alice's radiance and authenticity were palpable. She was a magnet for friendship and connection. Because her daughters and husband understand the far-reaching influence Alice had on so many people, multiple Celebration of Life services will be held in her name. These dates and locations are yet to be determined.

If you knew Alice, you knew she was very fond of quotes. If you came to her to vent or for advice, you would get a quote. Her home was always decorated with many different meaningful and inspiring ones. Because it is one of her most echoed and simple quotes and encapsulates how reverently she lived and loved, her family chose the one below to honour and remember her.

"Life is so short and very fragile; do that which makes you happy."
