In loving memory of

Elizabeth C. Thompson
June 28, 1932 - March 20, 2024

Elizabeth (Betty) Thompson (nee Whalen), our Irish angel, age 91, passed away peacefully, on March 20th, 2024.
Betty was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA with her beloved siblings who predeceased her-Marguerite, Doris, John, Charles, Joseph, and Edward. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend. Betty married her husband, the (late) Herbert, in April of 1957, and was married 61 years. They resided in Lindenwold, NJ where they raised four children, Deborah Colomy (Ronald), Laurel Springs, Herbert Thompson (Sharon) North Carolina, Karen Thompson, Voorhees, and the late Paul Thompson. Betty absolutely adored her 8 grandchildren Laura (Rob), Ronald (Kathleen), Alex, Kelly (Macon), Sean (Nayka), Michael, Kathryn, Matthew and 8 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jacob, Luke, Nolan, Olivia, Elianna, Peyton, Cameron.

Betty worked as a telephone operator until she retired, working over twenty-five years for JFK Hospital in Stratford, now Jefferson Hospital. She loved her coffee and donuts, crossword puzzles, reading, country music, genealogy, gardening, yard sales, photography, social gatherings and her regular trips to the library and ShopRite, but most of all Betty loved her family.

Betty's family would like to extend very special blessings and love to the staff at The Residence of Voorhees-Reflections Unit, especially the incredible nurse's aide and med tech staff who took incredible and loving care of our mother (and us) for the past two years. Their dedication to the care of those who can no longer care for themselves is beyond extraordinary. Thank you for helping to walk her home. We send you a wink and smile from Betty with love.

There will be a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Followed by Service of Remembrance at 10:30 am. Interment is private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a random act of kindness in Betty's name and/or a donation to the Alzheimer's Association-Donor Services, 225 N. Michigan Avenue,
