Frances Simmons
December 23, 1942 - April 8, 2024

It is with profound sadness to announce that Frances Carol Simmons had passed away on April 8, 2024, in Bellevue, Washington. Frances Carol was born December 23, 1942, in Westchester County, New York. She was the daughter of Frank and Hazelle Spaeth.

Frances Carol graduated from Stephens College where she was a member of the Prince of Wales Riding Club, the country's oldest continuous active riding club. Frances Carol received a post graduate degree in pharmacy from the University of Connecticut. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Frances Carol was an accomplished pianist and superb horsewoman. She owned and managed a cattle and horse farm in Virginia, worked as a pharmacist, and raised her only child, Jennifer, mostly as a single parent.

In addition to her parents, Frances Carol was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Simmons, and her sister, Susan A. Holland. Surviving Frances Carol is her daughter, Jennifer Avellino (Anthony Avellino), her two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Michael Avellino; her brother
Frank Spaeth (Judith Spaeth); her brother John Spaeth ( Patricia Spaeth); and her sister, Judi Cody ( Ron Sukoneck); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances Carol will be remembered for her unique sense of humor, inquisitive mind about all things, her massive accomplishments, and her kindness. She was a true individualist who lived her life her way.

There will be no memorial services planned at this time. Her siblings plan to have a remembrance and celebration of her life at a later time.
