In loving memory of

Katherine Louise Trost
December 17, 1951 - April 2, 2024

Katherine Louise Trost passed away peacefully on the evening of April 2nd in Renton WA.

She is survived by her beloved partner of 35 years David Lilly, her son Justin, daughter in-law Amy, her grandsons Jake and Henry and four brothers Arthur Jochmann (Sharon), Michael Jochmann (Carmella) Dennis Jochmann (Sissy) and Steven Jochmann and many Nieces and Nephews.

Kathy was the oldest sibling to four brothers who all shared the same dry, sarcastic sometimes not so PC sense of humor we all loved. Kathy loved and taught fencing as a young girl and teenager and continued verbally fencing for the rest of her life.

Kathy was a trailblazer in many ways in her professional life. She was the first woman Journeyman Pipefitter in Local 32 in Seattle beginning in the late 70s, early 80s. Kathy was a board member of ANEW- Apprenticeship and non-traditional employment for women. Kathy later went onto become the lead plumber with the Bellevue school district. Kathy was also in 3rd party administration in the insurance industry for may years before starting her own business as a COBRA insurance specialist.

Kathy Loved to dote on her family especially her Grandsons. She loved to put on extravagant Christmases staying up into the wee hours making traditional polish dishes like Gwumpki, Stollen and Malboil and forming perfectly wrapped themed presents and decorations.

Kathy had a major impact on many people in her life with her generosity of wisdom, spirit and love. She was very close with her family and had an amazing tradition of having nieces and nephews out for trips to visit in Seattle to spend time with her and get in some special personal shopper time.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Louise.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to ANEW in her name. https://anewcareer.org
