Bona De Fritsch
July 25, 1939 - April 15, 2024

Bona De Fritsch, of Antigo, died on April 15, 2024 at Copperleaf Memory Care. She was 84 years old. She was born on July 25, 1939 in Antigo, a daughter of Kennan and Ruby (Rice) Purdy. She married Richard Fritsch on September 14, 1957. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2023.

Bona worked various part-time jobs including tying flies for Mepps/Sheldon's Inc, cleaning homes, Wild's potato farm, and Farmer's Home Restaurant.

She volunteered at C.A.R., and enjoyed flower gardening, weekly outings, fishing, remodeling, camping, renting cabins on the lake, and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Cheryl (William) Vehrs of Wausau, Randy (Dianne) Fritsch of Antigo, Ricky (Nancy) Fritsch of Antigo, and Cindy (Terry) Brittenham of Deerbrook; six grandchildren, Jenny (Bruce) Honzik, Jake (Jillian McCarthy) Thorbahn, Dori Howard, RyAnn (Ryan) Filbrandt, Tiffany Fritsch, Gabby Fritsch; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter (Gabby Held) Honzik, Trapper Honzik, Nate (Sadie Burkhart) Howard, Kaelee Howard, Brandi (Austin Rekow) Howard, Nick Howard, Luella Filbrandt, Knolan Rhode, Dawson Norwood, Waylon Richard Fritsch; three great-great-grandchildren, Sunny, Daisy and Easton; a brother, Gary (Stephen) Purdy; five sisters-in-law, Norma Fritsch, Arlene Brown, Margaret (Pete) Rolin, Wanda Fritsch and Dora Purdy.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Nancy (Dallas) Lewis and Connie (Robert) Fritsch; a brother, Ken "Pug" Purdy; father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Lucille Fritsch; brothers-in-law, Duane Fritsch, Donald Fritsch; and sisters-in-law, Carol Vander Kooi and Lila Dickman.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with Chaplain Bonnie Bauman officiating. There will be a luncheon held following the service at Faith United Church of Christ.
