In loving memory of

Geneva Elmira Rawson
February 10, 1936 - April 8, 2024

Geneva Elmira (Rix) Rawson, "Neva", of Issaquah, WA passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born February 10, 1936, to Aldon and Alvina Rix of Fergus Falls, MN, the fourth of eight children. Neva attended Fergus Falls High School and was employed for several years before leaving MN to join her sister, Shirley, in California in 1956.

She met the love of her life, Richard Rawson, May 30, 1956, and married him at St. Elisabeth Catholic Church in Van Nuys, CA on April 4, 1959. Neva and Richard raised two sons, Bryan and Paul in Van Nuys. While raising her family, Neva was involved in numerous volunteer activities at church, school and in Boy Scouts. She met lifelong friends through these opportunities. She returned to work when her sons were in high school and retired at 62 from ITT Gilfillan as a contract administrator. Neva and Richard enjoyed an expanding family when Bryan married Connie Miller and Paul married Sara Lindsay. She was an excellent square dancer, seamstress, quilter, doll and teddy bear maker, a wonderful cook and taught her family many of her talents along the way.

In 1999, Neva and Richard moved to Las Vegas, NV and launched into a life of cruising, traveling and numerous visits with family and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard in November 2013 as well as her parents and three siblings, Jessie, Shirley and Marvin.

In 2017, Neva relocated to Issaquah, WA, becoming an active resident of the Bellewood community and located near son Bryan and daughter-in-law Connie. She was adored as "Gram" by grandchildren Keith (Carlie), Mark (Denise), Kathryn (Justin) and Andrea (Colin) and as "Great Gram" by Sophia, Logan and Everly. Neva was also affectionately known as a "bonus" mom, aunt and grandmother to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her children and their families, Neva is survived by her sisters Phyllis, Dora, Charlotte and Bernie.

The family will arrange a celebration of life for both Neva and Richard this summer when her extended family can gather. Neva was always blessed with the opportunity to serve wonderful meals to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. In her memory, the family invites donations to local food banks to share meals with those in need.
