Angel Mendoza was born in Manila, Philippines to Ernesto and Virginia Mendoza. He finished high school at the University of the Philippines High School in Diliman, Quezon City, and he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos campus. He owned and managed a poultry farm in Marikina, Rizal prior to immigrating to the United States. He settled in Seattle where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He worked as a registered nurse at Swedish Hospital for 30 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Seattle where he volunteered at the church Food Bank for several years. Angel passed away with his family at his side. He was predeceased by brother Virgil and survived by sisters Celia and Mayo.
