Vernon Vernon Emery Nielsen, 82 of Marysville, Washington passed away November 04, 2024 at Providence Hospital in Marysville after a short illness. Vernon was born December 16, 1941 in Anchorage, Alaska. Family services will be held December 14th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Marysville. Vernon was raised in Alaska and graduated from East Anchorage High School. He went on to get a major in accounting from Alaska Methodist University. After graduation Vernon served in the army at Ft Sam Houston in Texas for two years. After his army time he returned to Alaska and spent the next 21 years working for Atlantic Richfield oil company during and after the Alaska Pipeline was being built from Valdez to the Arctic slope. After retiring Vernon used his accounting skills and invested in real estate and worked on improving his tennis skills. In 1983 Vernon married "the love of his life" Delia Samaniego. In 1997 Vernon and Delia moved to Marysville, Washington to be closer to family. Unfortunately his wife Delia passed away from aggressive breast cancer in 1999. Survivors include sons Daniel Samaniego and Ernest Samaniego, daughters Lilia Rybriski and Joanne Campeau and many grandchildren from the Marysville area. In addition to his step children survivors include Vernons sisters Dorothy Cavener from Rupert, Idaho and Mary Parker from Grants Pass, Oregon.
