In loving memory of

Eugene Palmore Owen Jr
June 7, 1934 - December 11, 2024

Eugene Palmore Owen Jr, 90, of Seahurst, WA passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2024. Gene was the oldest of two children raised by parents Charlotte and Eugene P. Owen Sr in Portland, OR.

Gene was the loyal husband of his cherished wife Pat for 68 years. Gene was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at the University of Washington.

After college and service with the US Air Force, Gene married Pat, and began his 38 year career in transportation logistics for Consolidated Freightways. Gene and Pat lived in six different cities before establishing roots for 55 years in Seahurst, and raising their children, GeneO and Kim.

The Oregon Coast, particularly Seaside, was a lifelong backdrop for family gatherings as Gene grew up, and as the family circle expanded. Gene loved Husky football, golf, bridge, Mariners baseball, coin collecting, 1950's music, West Highland Terriers, and his Porsche Boxster S.

Gene was an intelligent and inquisitive man who has instilled within us a gift of curiosity and love of reading that we will pass along through generations of family.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pat (two months ago), and is survived by his son GeneO (Diane), daughter Kim Russell (Justin), grandchildren Geoffrey, Kristina, Kendra (Chase), Bryan (Ellie), Jake (Ashley), Wes (Hannah), Walker (Erika), great-grandchildren Emilia & Easton, and brother William Owen. A private memorial will be held by his loving family in January 2025.

We love you so much, Dad/Gene - you will live on in all of us forever. We'll be together again in eternity.

Tributes

GeneO Owen wrote on Jan 2, 2025:

"Dad, thank you for loving Mom and all of us so much and for bringing me and Kimmy into this incredible world. You were a strong and intelligent "man's man", and though you could have a tough exterior, we know you had a soft heart underneath it all, especially for your family. You lived your life on your terms, and in your own way. And you were always our protector and provider and we thank you for all you have done for us. We will always love you, and Mom, and you both together, and we will miss you for eternity. Your loving son forever, GeneO "
