David Porter, 80, passed away December 21,2024 at home in Arlington, Wa. He is survived by his wife Gail; children David (Kimberly) Garrett of Fl, William (Jennifer) Porter of Rock Falls, IL, Brent (Mindy) Porter of Rock Falls, IL, Tammy (Rich) Bossert of Yakima, Wa, Lisa Porter of Tahuya, Wa, Michele Porter of Lake Tapps, Wa; Step children; David (Bev) Cooper of Puyallup, Wa, June (Chris) Cooper of Arlington, Wa, Todd (Sue) Cooper of Peoria, Az; eighteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister Pamala (Tom) Newville of Iona, Mich.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Lewis Porter, Patricia (Walsh) Burke; sisters Sandy Porter, Lori Morrell; uncle John Walsh; Stepdaughter Sherry Towey.
Dave was born in Waukegan, IL. After graduating from Warren Tounship HS he went on the road performing in bands from IL to FL, in a comedy act in the Poconos and entertained troops in Vietnam. He started his single act playing guitar and singing from Los Angeles to Seattle where he bought The Port Hole Restaurant in Des Moines, Wa. (AKA) Breakers owning for seventeen years, retiring to Az. the last twenty years. Dave was an avid fisherman, loved building anything. Music, grandchildren and dogs were his love.
He was a man of sheer will and determination!
