August M. Kapusta
February 25, 1931 - February 24, 2025

August M. Kapusta, of Antigo, died on Monday, February 24, 2025 at his home under the care of his family, friend Nancy and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 93 years old. He was born on February 25, 1931 in Town of Ackley, a son of Urban and Frances (Cruvska) Kapusta. He married Kay Faller on October 3, 1959 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1948.

Mr. Kapusta served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He worked on the airfield near Ascom City, Korea with L16, L17 and L20 observation and personal carrier planes.

Following his time in the Army he moved to Milwaukee and worked for Cuttler Hammer and at the John Oster Plant. In 1970 he moved back to Antigo at worked at the Vulcan Corp and then Kraft Foods until retirement. In retirement August worked on potato farms.

He was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church where he ushered for many years. He was also a member of the Monsignor Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002 and the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653.

August enjoyed hunting in Ackley with his sons, fishing, watching the birds, doing the yard work and going to Dixie Lunch. He had a love for Chevy trucks.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; two sons, Robert Kapusta of Antigo and Todd Kapusta of Aniwa; two grandchildren, Sal (Sadie) Kapusta of Rib Lake and Shaymarie (RC) Sitz of Wisconsin Rapids; four great-grandchildren, Brodi, Bentley, and Berrett Sitz and Elva Kapusta; a sister, Marian Kapusta and special friend Edith of Brainerd, MN; sister-in-law, Bev Kapusta of Antigo; a sisters and brother-in-law, Ann (Bob) Hoerman of Antigo and Beth Faller; and special friends, Gary and Nancy Sorano.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Bruce; three brothers, Joseph, James and Urban Jr.; a sister-in-law, Joan Kapusta; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Iva Faller; and a brother-in-law, John Faller.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev Hilary Andebo officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Military Honors will be held following the service at the funeral home.
