"We are so sorry for your loss. Loved seeing Diane & Paul around Gilbert area and talking to them!"
Diane (Noon, Berkenbosch) Pelz passed away peacefully at Windsor Manor in Nevada on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Diane was born to Helene VanHaalen Noon and Glenn Noon on March 18, 1935, in Prairie City, Iowa.
She grew up in Monroe, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1953, where she was a drum majorette and editor of the school newspaper. In 1954, she married Carroll (Berkey) Berkenbosch at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They had three children and lived in Newton until Carroll's tragic death in a plane crash in 1970, along with her brother Robert Noon and family friend Donald Robinson. In 1971, Diane married Larry Pelz, and the family moved to Blairsburg, Iowa. After their divorce in 1999, Diane met her best friend and long-time partner, Paul Jensen, in 2000. She moved to his farm outside of Gilbert, later relocating to Ames, where they lived until Paul's death in 2022.
Diane had a passion for cooking, entertaining, antiques, and art. She was very stylish and loved dressing up and going out--she was always perfectly put together. Over the course of her life, she worked for a dental office, an optometrist, a gift shop, and as a site manager for the Webster City Congregate Meals. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Ames and a member of T.T.T. and Chapter KC of PEO.
Diane especially treasured time with her family and many friends. She is lovingly remembered by her children Susan (Ronald) Dinsdale, Steven (Susan Roberts) Pelz, daughter-in-law Cindy (Pelz) Warren; grandchildren Jesse (Monica) Dinsdale, Natalie Dinsdale, Berkley (Kayla) Dinsdale, Zachary (Megan) Pelz, Samuel Pelz, Megan (Patrick) Alexander, Quinton (Elise) Pelz and Gregory (Karly) Pelz, J.J. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll Berkenbosch, her brother Robert Noon, her daughter-in-law Janice Pelz and her son Scott Pelz.
Diane will be interred in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe in a private family service. Cards and condolences may be directed to Sue Dinsdale, 29480 US Hwy 69, Huxley, Iowa 50124, to be shared with the family.
