"You shaped me into the man I?ve become."
Donald (Don) R. Ruckman, a long-time resident of Renton, WA passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2025. Born in Prosser, WA on January 10, 1937, to Roy Ray Ruckman and Rebecca Jane Taylor. Don married Jeanene C. Malray on October 23, 1959, after he returned from the US Army service. They were married almost 60 years when Jeanie went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2018.
During his life in Renton, Don worked for Boeing for 35+ years. He had many hobbies including drag racing, playing his trumpet, woodworking and car restoration. His trumpet playing included playing in the Boeing Band, Route 66, Big Band groups and theatre musicals. His children, Teresa and Mike went to every drag racing event to cheer on their dad. After auto racing, his children became avid swimmers. It was then that Don became their biggest fan and coach. The family travelled all over depending on where the swim meet was held. He was a certified timer and stroke and turn official at most of their meets.
When Don retired from Boeing, he wasn't quite done with working. In 1992, he took on "the assistant and accountant" to Jeanie, when they opened their state approved bakery. Once they both finally officially retired, they started travelling. Their favorite cruise was to the Virgin Islands.
He was a very dedicated, loyal, and devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Don is preceded in death by his grandson Nathanael David Ruckman and his wife Jeanene Cecile Ruckman. Don is survived by his brother-in-law Wayne Malray and wife Bonnie of Tacoma, WA, and two children Teresa Jane Dorsey and husband Joseph of Kent, WA, and Michael Ray Ruckman and wife Susan of Tampa, FL, and three granddaughters Addie Ruckman, Morgan Ruckman, and Hanna Ruckman also of Tampa, FL. Both children, Teresa and Michael were born in Renton and attended Cascade Elementary, Nelson Middle school, and Lindbergh High School (1980 & 1981).
"Kind-hearted," "Loyal," and "Upright" are a few words that describe our "Pop" and dad.
The family would be honored if you would join them for a Celebration of Life service on November 2, at 2:30pm at New Life Church, 15711 152nd Ave SE, Renton, WA. 98055.
