April 11, 1930 - December 27, 2025

Gertrude (Trudy) Claire Yoder (Boeyink) age 95 of Ames, Iowa died on December 27, 2025, at her residence in the Green Hills Retirement Community. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at The Parlor, 119 Washington Avenue, Ames, Iowa, 50010, with a brief service of remembrance at 11:30, followed by a light lunch.

Gertrude Claire Boeyink was born on April 11, 1930, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Henry and Bess Boeyink. After her graduation from high school, she attended Iowa State University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Later she received her Masters degree, also from Iowa State. Trudy married Ralph Yoder on June 23, 1957. Trudy and Ralph settled in Fort Dodge, Iowa where she worked for the Fort Dodge public school district. She was the curriculum coordinator for the Home Economics and Vocational Education programs as well as the Food Services director for the school district. Following her retirement, Ralph and Trudy moved to Ames and ultimately settled in the Green Hills retirement community.

Trudy is survived by her son Daniel (Jennifer) Yoder of Houston, her daughter, Kim (Duke) Higgins of Little River, South Carolina, daughter-in-law Mary Ann Yoder of Tonganoxie, Kansas. Grandchildren Andrea (Nicholas) Lamb, Amber (Jesse) Sheets, Kasey (Chance) Stephens, Patrick (Jess) Higgins, Chris (Sarah) Yoder, Kelle (Joesph) Banda, and Michael (Celesta) Yoder, and 17 great grandchildren.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, her son Keith, grandsons Brandon and Joel Yoder and her sister Wanda Wonderlich.

"Trudy and Ralph were friends for many years. We would celebrate birthdays together. The Land O Lake ladies would get together for lunch. Trudy and I were even 4-H leaders together for a short time. We lived on North 14th Street in Fort Dodge and watched each other's children grow up. Special times together. Dee Fowler"
