Stephanie Rae Millett passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at the age of 36, with Kayla by their side, holding their hand, just as Steph had wished.
For six years, Steph faced metastatic breast cancer with remarkable strength, but it never defined the person they were. They met every challenge with fierce determination, unwavering resilience, and an enduring love for the people they held closest.
Steph was a gifted hair stylist whose talent helped people see the beauty in themselves. They were also a powerful writer, able to put into words the emotions, hopes, and experiences that so often go unspoken. They had an adventurous spirit and loved a good road trip, always eager to see somewhere new. Together, Steph and Kayla often joked that the open road was the one place they truly felt at home. Whether exploring a new destination or taking the scenic route just because they could, Steph found joy in the journey and in the memories made along the way.
Those who knew Steph knew their strength. They were wonderfully stubborn, fiercely resilient, and never one to give up without a fight. But beneath that strength was an enormous heart. Steph loved fiercely and without reservation, especially their wife, Kayla, and their daughter, Maddy. They were the center of Steph's world, and every decision they made was rooted in love for their family. To Kayla, Steph was not only a wife but the love of her life, her greatest partner, and her home. Above all else, Steph's greatest adventure was the life they built with Kayla and Maddy.
Steph will be remembered for their courage, compassion, wit, and their ability to find moments of light even in the darkest seasons. They taught those around them that true strength is found not only in fighting, but in loving fiercely, accepting grace, and holding tightly to hope.
Steph leaves behind their wife, Kayla, and daughter, Maddy, along with beloved family members and close friends.
Steph's legacy is not measured by the years they lived, but by the lives they touched and the adventures they embraced. They leave behind a family built on unconditional love, friendships strengthened by their kindness, and countless people who are better for having known them. Though their absence leaves an immeasurable ache, the love they shared will continue to guide those they leave behind every single day.
A celebration of Steph's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor their memory and the extraordinary life they lived.
