Patricia Louise Carter passed peacefully from this life on August 15, 2026. Growing up in Chicago, IL, Pat attended the Sherwood Music School where she earned her Teaching Certificate and Bachelor of Music Education degree. Pat was an accomplished pianist and organist who loved sharing her skills and knowledge with her students during her teaching career.
Pat moved to her beloved Pacific Northwest, which she called home for nearly fifty years. She worked as a Procurement Analyst for the Boeing Company for thirty two years before retirement. Her life has been filled with friends, music, and travel. Pat loved a good joke, and those who love her will always remember her wonderful, infectious laugh.
Pat was a champion of diversity, fairness, generosity and inclusion. Her spirit, wit, and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will never be forgotten.
Pat is survived by nieces Karen (Mark) Whitlock of Springfield, IL, Elizabeth Sue Whittaker of Fruita, CO, and nephew Ken (Maryanne) Nelson of Anderson, SC. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Jesse E. Carter and Mary Harriet Carter of Hartford, KY, and sister Doris M. Nelson of Madisonville, TN. She was also preceded in death by her dear friends Joan E. Brown and Frances A. Brown of Edmonds, Wa. Pat's final resting place will be near Joan and Frances at Floral Hills in Lynnwood, Wa.
