In loving memory of

Judith Pollak
February 21, 2005

On February 21, 2005, Judy Pollak lost her 14-year battle with cancer, passing away peacefully at home with her family. Born in Green Bay to the late Ray and Pearl (Steeno) Mommaerts, Judy attended West High School and was a lifelong resident of the Green Bay area. Judy married Rich Pollak on May 27, 1977. During her valiant fight trying to beat the cancer that invaded her body, Judy never gave up or asked ?Why me?? She was a fighter all the way to the end. Judy was a very special person who will always be remembered for her affection and dedication to all animals. She worked as a Wildlife Rehabilitator for the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary RPAWS Program and was very proud to have helped so many birds and small animals return to their natural habitat. Judy never turned away a sick or injured animal no matter where it came from and grieved as if they were a lifelong pet on their passing. Those who knew and loved her, referred to her as ?The Bird Lady of Ashwaubenon? because she enjoyed and spent a lot of time feeding and watching the birds (and squirrels too). A talented ceramic artist, Judy also spent time creating many beautiful pieces which she gave to family and friends. But her most favorite thing was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor and Quinn, who she loved more than life itself. They kept her young, active and alive for many years. Judy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Rich Pollak; one daughter, Dana Williquette; two sons, Mark (Christine) Williquette and Todd (Tina) Williquette; two brothers, Ron (Georgia) Mommaerts and Brad (Barb) Mommaerts; three grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Williquette and Quinn Williquette; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Pollak; brother-in-law, Bob Pollak; sisters-in-law, Sue (Ron) Gillis and Kathy (Fred) Melkey; nieces and nephews, Rick Mommaerts; Shelly Meyer (Mommaerts); Rob (Maureen) Mommaerts and Dan Mommaerts; Alex and Kasie Melkey and Zacharay Chartrand; and her beloved dog, Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Madeline Williquette, two sisters-in-law, Patricia Pollak and Jean Chartrand; and special pet companions, Daisy, Tiffany, Muggs, Sassy and Mitchell. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. where the funeral service will take place at 7:00 P.M. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com We would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Green Bay Oncology, particularly Dr. James McGovern. His dedication, care and treatment enabled Judy to survive her cancer for these 14 years with a high quality of life. We would also like to thank Heartland Hospice nurses and staff for their help during this difficult ending. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
