Robert F. Kamps, 81, Green Bay, died Sunday morning, October 24, 2004, at a local nursing home. He was born on May 29, 1923 in Green Bay to the late Paul and Elizabeth (Maes) Kamps. After graduating from Green Bay West High School in 1942, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On August 30, 1947, he married the former LaVerne M. Jauquet at St. John the Evangelist Church; she preceded him in death on May 12, 1993. Robert was employed as a dispatcher by Hurlbut Coal Co. and Schuster Construction. Robert was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Mike Kamps, Calif., and Dan and Debbie Kamps, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Paul Kamps and Lori ( Randall) Radcliffe, both of Calif., and Ryan and Megan Kamps, Green Bay; two step great grandchildren: Randy and Brett Radcliffe; one sister and brother-in-law: Evelyn and Bud Heller, Wausaukee; two sisters-in-law: Beverly Derbique and Vi Jauquet, both of Green Bay; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Arnold and Ruth Biebal, Clem and Darleen Jauquet, Charles and Joyce King, Don Jauquet and Harold Derbique. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at Lyndahl Funeral home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd., where funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment in Fort Howard Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Manor Care West and Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care that they provided.
