Mary Perpich

Mary A. Perpich, 93, Green Bay, formerly of Anvil Location, Michigan died peacefully with her family, Friday, February 3, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was born August 3, 1912, to the late Matt and Frances (Majnaric) Marusich in Painesdale, Michigan. She was a graduate of A. D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Michigan. On May 2, 1936, she married Michael Perpich Jr. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield, Michigan. He preceded her in death October 22, 2000. Mary's first priority in life was her family. She was known for her warm hospitality, good food, love of polka dancing and her great sense of humor. A visit to her kitchen was a loving experience. Mary was a member of the Anvil Civic Club, St. Margaret Mary Circle and the Altar and Rosary Society of Christ the King Parish in Ramsay, Michigan, the Wakefield VFW Auxiliary and the quilting club.
Survivors include her children, William (Dorothy) Perpich and Kathleen Perpich, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren, William (Gwen) Perpich, Jr., St. Petersburg, Florida; Suzanne (Chris) Murawski, Winneconne; Dennis (Jill) Perpich, Kingsford, Michigan; Karl Perpich and his fiance' Deb Krall, De Pere; and Kristina (Mark) Kuula, Fall Creek; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sawyer and Jack Perpich; Zachery, Gregery and Mary Murawski, and Jessica and Bryce Kuula. She is further survived by one brother, Anton (Ann) Marusich; two sisters-in-law, Ann Bordini Perpich and Adele Radakovich and special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, an infant, Ann, Frances Beissel and Katherine Jurkovich; and her brother, Matt Marusich.
Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 7, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12 noon with the Rev. Jim Hablewitz officiating. A memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
