Rita Vannieuwenhoven

Rita M. Vannieuwenhoven, 68, of Lakewood (formerly of Suamico) went to join her parents and son in heaven on Monday, February 25, 2008, while at a local hospital. She was born October 15, 1939, to the late Gabriel and Beatrice (Krouse) Leurquin in Green Bay. On October 27, 1956, Rita married Raymond Vannieuwenhoven in Green Bay. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary October 27, 2007. Rita was a lifelong housewife and mother. She was a member of the Red Hat Hummers of Lakewood. She loved to dance, sing karaoke, play bingo and games with her family.
Survivors include her wonderful husband, Raymond; three daughters, Denise (Randy) Jackett, Lakewood; Sue Stephanie Vannieuwenhoven (Darren Helms) Clintonville; and Dorothy Vannieuwenhoven (Larry Laverdiere) Howard; two sons, Darcy (Bonnie Katzbahn) Vannieuwenhoven and John Vannieuwenhoven (Mary Richert); eight grandchildren, Jenny and Michael, Sheboygan; David, Ashley and Crystal, Green Bay; Chrissy and Jessica, Clintonville; and Johnathon, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren; a twin brother, Richard Leurquin, Eagle River; and cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel and her grandson, Michael.
Friends may call after 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where the funeral service will take place at 5:30 P.M. Burial will be in St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery in Suamico. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
