Doris M. MemeĀ Vanderheyden, 84, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born October 6, 1923 to the late Nicholas and MaryBelle (McDonald) Kieffer in Marshfield, WI. On July 25, 1959, she married Francis Vanderheyden at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. Prior to retiring, Doris was employed by Dr. M. R. Erickson's office as a lab technician. Doris was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved music dearly, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children and their spouses: Michael McWey, Neenah, Maureen and Frank Colwell, Sherwood, Susan and Fred Streckenbach, Austin, TX, and Frank Vanderheyden and Pauline, Green Bay; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Fran, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles McWey, Jr.; one daughter, Gwen Ellen; daughter-in-law, Janis McWey; three brothers, Marvin, Bert, and Gene Kieffer; and two sisters, Mildred Kieffer Larken and Thelma Kieffer.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will take place in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
