Ida Mae Wicks, 92, formerly of Green Bay, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at an Oconto nursing facility. She was born September 23, 1916, to the late James O. and Maude E. (Anderson) Cain in Oconto. Ida Mae enjoyed traveling, painting, swimming and tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John �Jack� and Phyllis McDowell, Athelstane; two grandchildren, Kelly (Lee) Kuehl, Pulaski and Jenny McDowell, Chicago; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Jake Kuehl; three brothers, Robert Cain, Oconto; John (Ethel) Cain, Maribel; and Clarence Cain, Green Bay; two sisters, Irene Steinhaus and Charlotte Kelm, both of Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Margaret Cain; her very special friend, Ronald White; and her friend, Sandra Lunde.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three husbands, Roland McDowell, Raymond Hicks and Charles Wicks; two brothers, Orville and Harold; a sister-in-law, Darlene Cain; and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Steinhaus and Omer Kelm.
Friends may call after 10 am Monday, April 6, at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, where the funeral service will take place at 11 am with the Rev. Sarah Johnsen officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
