Daniel "Dan" F. Piontek, 60, Green Bay, died Friday , May 22, 2009 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence, with his family at his side after a three year battle with cancer. He was born on April 18, 1949 to the late Norbert and Ruth (Qualman) Piontek. Dan served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He married the former Terri Jones on January 4, 1969 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Green Bay. Dan had been employed at Old Dutch Foods for many years. Some things Dan loved to do were playing cards with his boys, yearly trips to LasVegas with his wife, supporting the packers and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Terri; three sons, Todd, Troy and Tricia, Joel and his fiance, Shannon Wickman, all of Green Bay;four grandchildren Peyton, Kadin, Trey and Brexton; one brother David (Marcia) Piontek. Friends may call Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a parish wake service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1224 12th Avenue with the Mass of the Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Everts officiating. Full military honors to follow. Entombment will take place at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Dan's name. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Unity Hospice for all their care given. Dan wanted to especially thank his brother Dave and his father-in-law Bernie Jones for all their support given through his illness.
