Ervin Parr

Ervin D. Parr, 83, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born May 14, 1926 in Wauwatosa, WI to the late Margaret Doxtator and raised by the late Ida (Swamp) Parr. Ervin served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific, South America and the Philippines. He married the former Dolores Andrews on November 16, 1946, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Green Bay, WI. Ervin was an electrician at James River Paper Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Concerned Hearts and Northern Paper Mill Bowling League. Ervin was a humble and graceful man with a kind heart.
Ervin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores, two daughters, Marlene (Harold) Gensler, Appleton, Karen (John) Jerabek, Ashwaubenon, two sons, Todd (Brenda) Parr, Niceville, FL, Troy (Kim) Parr, Hobart; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; half-brother, Ken (Sharon) Zuelsdorf, Westminster CO; brother-in-law, Arlie Doxtator, Freedom, WI; three God-children, Cheryl Winzenreid, Chris Brett, Wayne Campbell.
In addition to his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl; one half-brother; two half-sisters; foster-sister, Erma Doxtator.
Friends may call from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 South Ridge Road, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ervin's name.
