Kenneth J. Kramer, 57, Green Bay, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at a local hospital after a courageous 15 month battle with cancer surrounded by his family and friends. He was born January 6, 1953 to Ralph and Steenah (Jacobson) Kramer, Sr. in Green Bay. On April 11, 1992, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sandra Dowell.
Kenneth served his country in the United States Air Force, as a helicopter mechanic, for 20 years. He was an active member of the Green Bay West Lions Club. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling, watching sci-fi and anything related to computers. He was a quiet and gentle man.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his stepson, John; two brothers, Ralph (June) Kramer and Norbert (Bonnie) Kramer; one sister, Lois (Bill) Skinner; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call after 9a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. with U.S. Military Honors. Major Jim Irvine of The Salvation Army will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Ken’s name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nancy Davis, the nursing staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center of Aurora Hospital, the doctors and nurses at Med Surg 1 and the Visiting Nurses Association for their care and support of Ken and his family. Also, a very special thank you to our friends, Mary Marks and Gloria and Jerry De Beck. You were always there when we needed you.
