Charmion (Vogler) Maloney, passed away at age 81, Thursday, September 30, 2010, after battling dementia for many years. She was born to Dot (Josephine) and Lester Vogler on May 21, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa. Charmion was an only child. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Vern Maloney.
She is survived by a daughter, Jody Berbick (Steve); a son, Brian Maloney (Doris); and a daughter, Michelle "Kelly" Kornaus (Mark); and 5 grandsons, Ryan, Scott, Aaron, Daniel and Andrew.
Charmion was an artist, painting many oil paintings; loved to sew; loved to cook; had a sense of humor that made everyone laugh; very vivacious and the life of a party with her whimsical ways. She was a housewife all of her life; shopper extraordinaire; home decorator; an honorary member of the sorority of Beta Sigma Phi; loved to travel to California and stay for months with her daughter and two grandsons; traveled to Hawaii, Hearst Castle, Disneyland, The Dells, House on the Rock and Las Vegas with her oldest daughter; and to Germany, Ireland, London, Switzerland and Austria with her daughter-in-law and her mother. Her life included many business trips to the Breakers, Pocono's etc., with her husband. She loved to entertain and loved to decorate her home festively for all seasons and holidays.
Charmion will be sorely missed by everyone who was related to her and by all whose lives she touched with her generosity, humor and adoring abilities.
The funeral mass will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, 2597 Glendale Avenue, Howard at 11 am on Wednesday, October 6. There will be no visitation prior to funeral mass. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Howard. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
