Elizabeth "Betty" Schroeder

Elizabeth �..."Betty” M. (Duchateau) Schroeder, 69, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord October 4, 2011 at home surrounded by family, after a truly courageous battle with Breast Cancer. She was born on February, 22, 1942, to the late Clarence and Evelyn (Vanden Langenberg) Duchateau. On June 10, 1958, she married her sweetheart, Harold Schroeder, at St Joseph's Church in Green Bay. Elizabeth attended West High School in Green Bay. She was a member of St Josephs Parish in Green Bay and also worked in the Parish Lunchroom. She then worked at Auto Glass Specialist for many years in the office. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Silver Cliff and at her son and daughter-in-laws cabin in Lakewood. She loved watching wildlife, gardening, canning, spending time with her family, playing games and traveling to Branson many times to see the Baldknobbers and The Legends shows.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Harold; and seven sons, Mike (Tori) Schroeder of Appleton, Jeff Schroeder of Green Bay, Harold (Laura) Schroeder of Sister Bay, Jim Schroeder of Green Bay, Eric Schroeder of Green Bay, Brian Schroeder of Green Bay, and Kevin (friend Erika Tejeda) of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Matt, Mitch, Megan, Elizabeth, Emma and Calvin and a brother, Glenn (Bonnie) Duchateau, of Franklin.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Amy (Brian) Schroeder, and their daughter, Ashley Schroeder.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1224 12th Avenue, Green Bay with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Don Everts officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Koch and Dr. Groteluschen, also, the nurses from Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Betty’s name.
