In loving memory of

Bartholomeo Peluso
December 12, 1920 - December 4, 2011

Peluso, Bart, Sr. We will miss our Father Bart Peluso Sr who passed away peacefully on Dec 4th 2011 and is now in heaven with our mom and his wife of 60+ years, Ninfa Peluso, Our Dad touched the lives of so many friends and relatives; He was an exceptional man with many talents and accomplished so much during his time on this earth. In World War Two, he was crew chief of the B24 Liberator "the Buzzer" and successfully flew 77 missions without a mechanical failure. During the War he received numerous medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Solders' medal for Bravery. After the War, he started his first career and ran a large cheese factory and then a retail cheese store in Brooklyn NY with his brother-in-law Joe Termine, Their store "Eagle Cheese Company" was an icon known throughout the five boroughs of New York City. He retired from the Cheese business at an early age, but rather than staying home decided to start another career and became a master jet engine mechanic specializing in 747's at Pan American World Airways. He retired once again and moved to Florida and our father started yet, a third career, this time as the mechanic for the Town of Davie. During his three outstanding careers, he managed to find time to become a fine artist and specialized in oil paintings and developed his own unique scratch board art. He won numerous awards and ribbons for his artistic talents that extended to ceramics, taxidermy and wood working. Dad was an avid sportsman and made it a point to teach us all how to fish for those elusive trout on Lake Keuka where we spent so many happy summers with him. He would catch the trout and our mom would cook them up in her own special way. Bart Sr. was truly a great father with diverse talents and taught us, his children, so much. Our dad was blessed with a large family. He was married to our mom Ninfa for over sixty years. We, his three children: Bart, Ronald and Roseanne gave him 9 grand children: Paul, Mathew and DJ, Ronald Jr. Melanie, Kristen and Jon, Bart the 3rd and Michael. They, in turn, presented great grandpa with seven great grandchildren Bart the 4th, Suzie, Emma, Annie, Mackena, Marissa and Aldo. Dad treated our spouses Dominick, Beverly and Barbara as if they were his own children. Our father was a man of many talents, a loving husband, a mentor for all of us and a wonderful provider. We know in our hearts he is up in heaven most likely starting yet another career or maybe even teaching St Peter how to catch the big ones. We will miss you Dad but we know you are with Mom once again ... Love from your entire family. Visitation on Wednesday, December 7th from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 2401 South University Drive, Davie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. David Catholic Church 3900 So. University Drive, Davie. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
