"Titus Family: I am not sure if you remember me or not but I worked at Titus's Pizzeria and Steakhouse from 1994 until 1996. Craig was the only person in Burlington that gave me a chance because my hair was longer than was the norm for B-town. He was a great boss, father, and husband. I often think of the time him and I came into work on Sunday and cleaned the grease traps. He would tell Fire Fighting stories and smoke Lucky Strikes. He was a great man that served his community for many years, and he will be missed by many many people. Respectfully, Adam Q. Haessler"

"I worked with Titus at MPCF... for the first 6 months he thought my name was Rosie... one day I said what'd you call me and he said Rosie... I said my name is Josie and laughed...but Rosie is the name that stuck.. my father passed away 15 yrs ago and Titus reminded me of him in so many ways... it's like losing my father all over again.. I loved that man... and I am so sorry for your loss."

"Craig and I rolled through many a highway and byway while on BFD A#1. He was the first to volunteer when no one else wanted the job and he always had my back. He was a loyal and trustworthy partner. Lots of adventures, and lots of laughs, many at his own expense. Craig-o was there when I needed someone to go to bat for me several times during our service together, and never shirked his duty, no matter the circumstances. I remember...Potato salad at midnight at station 3..Squirrel stew...35 hours up and 4 Iowa City transfers..the hotrod..pushing the ambulance out of the station 1..Waterloo Iowa..2 am calls to shorty's..and a few headshaking, gut wrenching moments too. I know how much he cared for his mom and dad and family and I know that he leaves me with many bittersweet memories...I hope his family realize he made a huge difference in the lives of many...See Ya Craig....Ron Layer..(AKA Reggie)"
