DARLENE LEECH
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Darlene Margaret Leech, 85, of Muscatine, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Lutheran Homes.

Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Dr. Bruce Ursin of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Katy Lee, Lisa Leech, Rebecca Kelley, Kenzie Gassen, and Broc Caliger. Casket bearers will be Mike Leech, Andy Leech, Brian Lee, and Eric Johnson. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to Lutheran Homes or the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Darlene was born on April 17, 1926, in Muscatine, the daughter of Virldie and Margaret Bramble Bryant. She married Kenneth C. Leech on May 29, 1944, in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2011.

She was employed by Wonder Bread where she worked for over 20 years and retired in 1988.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her sister, Nancy. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, Kenneth, wintering in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, for many years where they had many friends and enjoyed golfing and the beach.

Those left to honor her memory include her three children, Douglas Leech and wife, Christine, of Muscatine, Robert Leech and wife, Marcia, of Muscatine, and Margaret Ann Broaddus and husband, Tony, of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Lisa Leech and husband, Eric Johnson, of Iowa City, Andrew Leech and wife, Jennifer, of Indianola, Michael Leech of St. Louis, Missouri, Rebecca Kelly and husband, Brian, of Stuart, Florida, Katy Lee and husband, Brian, of Muscatine, Broc Caliger and friend, Holly, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kenzie Gassen of Davenport; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kate, Liz, Anna, Rachel, and Cayden; two brothers, Vernon Bryant of Colona, Illinois, and Bob Bryant of Muscatine; and two sisters, Nancy Garvin of Muscatine, and Donna Axelrod of Lisbon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virldie Bryant and Margaret Buntenbach; her husband; and one son, John Edward Leech.
