ALEDO, Illinois -- Helen Marjorie Wagner, 88, of Aledo, formerly of Eliza, died on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Mercer County Hospital.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Nursing Home.

Helen was born on May 25, 1923, in Joy, Illinois, the daughter of Ed and Ruth M. Blaisdell Taylor. She married Albert Eldon Wagner on February 22, 1941, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2006.

She was a cook and baker in the Westmer School District for more than 19 years.

She enjoyed gardening, playing her organ, and Swedish Weaving, which she recently learned from her sister, Lois. It became her favorite past time.

Survivors include her grandson, Steven E. Rossnagel and wife, Christina, of Amarillo, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kristopher Rossnagel; and four sisters, Lois McCormick and Velma Wadhams, both of Aledo; LaVon Wadhams of New Windsor and Twila Lynn of Moline.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Eldon Eugene Wagner; a daughter, Arlene Ann Rossnagel; and sister, Violet Wadhams.
