Aune D. Peterson, age 96, an Ames resident died Wed. Apr. 8, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Monday, Apr 13, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames. Graveside service will be at Avon Cemetery, Grayslake, IL on Tuesday, Apr 14 at 3:00 PM. A gathering of friends will follow at Strang Funeral Chapel in Grayslake, IL until 5 PM.
Aune was born Jan.29,1913 in South Range MI the daughter of Alexander and Tillie (Olson) Jarvey. She worked at Heppner Manufacturing before moving to Ames in 1981, to be close to family. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. While she lived in Hainesville, IL she was active with her children in PTA and very involved with their lives. Her fondest memories were traveling with her children around the United States when they were younger, and later, traveling to Germany and France.
Aune is survived by daughter and son in-law Jeanette and Robert LaGrange of Ames and son, Robert Peterson of Austin TX; daughter-in-law, Karen Klaassen of Mesa, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thorval E.; 2 sons, Gerald Peterson and Theodore Peterson; three sisters; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
