BETTENDORF, Iowa--Mildred "Milly" Bierman Shingledecker, 96, of Davenport, died peacefully, held by the hand of Jesus, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Trinity Bettendorf.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1915 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport. Private burial will take place in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, or to the Good Samaritan Society, Davenport. Weerts Funeral Home of Davenport, is assisting her family with arrangements.

"Milly" was born on June 21, 1915, in Muscatine, the daughter of John and Ida Bierman. Milly spent her time and talents in the Lone Tree and West Liberty farming communities as the wife of Carl Shingledecker. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1977.

Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Sheridan of Phoenix, Arizona, Carla Conn and husband, Bill, of Trego Wisconsin, and Debra Leese and husband, Roger, of Davenport; a son, Gary Shingledecker and wife, Marsha, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Jill Brenenstuhl and husband, Dan, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, Casey Shingledecker and Julianne Jensen of West Branch, and Ann Mangini and husband, Mark, of Sherman Oaks, California; and great-grandchildren, Cameron and Mitchel Shingledecker, Rio Mangini and Tyler and Julianne Brenenstuhl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Bradley Shingledecker; six sisters; and two brothers.
