SARA SANCHEZ-ABONCE
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Sara (Mendoza) Sanchez-Abonce, 62, of Muscatine, died on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Genesis Hospital - East Campus, Davenport.
Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Sam Seward of the Bible Missionary Church will officiate the service.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bible Missionary Church.
Sara was born on June 14, 1949, in Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Jose Carmen and Celia Abonce Sanchez. She married Ezequiel Mendoza-Mendoza and they later divorced.
She was a devoted and beloved member of the Bible Missionary Church. Her faith in God was her life.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jerry Mendoza, Steve Mendoza, Jeannette Rangel, and Nancy Mendoza, all of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; her fiancé, Melvin Preston of Muscatine; and her siblings, Adrian Sanchez, Efrain Sanchez, Sergio Sanchez, Josue Sanchez, Asael Sanchez, Noe Sanchez, Everando Sanchez, Joel Sanchez, Anedelia Mendoza and Ester Carreno.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Samuel Mendoza and one in infancy, Hercules Mendoza; and one brother, Otoniel Sanchez.
