Tyson Lee McCain, one of five children of Connie Jean (Watson) and Larry Anthony "Tony" McCain, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 24, 1985. Tyson and his family lived in Omaha where Tyson attended Norriss Elementary School until 1993 when the family moved to their current home west of Carson, Iowa. Tyson attended Riverside Schools in Carson and Oakland, Iowa and was a member of the Senior Class of 2003. Tyson enjoyed spending time with his friends, skateboarding, drawing, and playing the electric guitar.
Tyson died on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha as a result of injuries he received after being struck by a car while walking on a rural road near Oakland earlier that morning. Tyson was 18 years, two months, and 24 days old. He is survived by his parents Connie and Tony McCain of Carson, IA; brother Justin McCain and his wife Eva of McClelland, IA; sisters Amanda McCain and Chuck Gonzalez of Council Bluffs, IA, and Amber McCain and Arica McCain both of Carson; paternal grandparents Larry and Karen McCain of Omaha, NE and maternal grandparents Roland and Verlene Watson of Omaha, NE; cousins, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and many friends.
